Mortal Kombat: Trogdor
I'm sure you've seen the very large gambit of Mortal Kombat baddies including "Blaze" the giant lava man monster:
But then there's also Trogdor:
I mean "Onaga" of course. However, Trogdor rolls off the tongue better. Anyways, this is the featured clip of his appearance through the video game trailer of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon:
As you can see, Trogdor (Onaga) carries Shao Kahn off, but before that, people didn't even know Trogdor (Onaga).
The crazy part is that you can even get alcohol that has Trogdor on it
Here's a list of the Mortal Kombat games by release date for a point of reference however.
The two games highlighted are the ones that featured Trogdor (Onaga) in someway. None of the other games featured him, which is quite surprising.
Let's back it up to the TV series:
SPOILER ALERT: The idea for the character Kronika using an hourglass as a form of control is not new to Mortal Kombat. Tseng Sung tried to use it for evil first. The TV series came out in 1998 and never got a second season despite being extremely climatic by the end of the show with Raiden and Shao Kahn at odds with one another:
All-in-all, Mortal Kombat is an American staple which really lays the groundwork for how badly we need to resist violence in real life. The violent video games America prides itself off of are high in volume and in number and the political arena is very broken in with World Wars 1 and 2 already. If there was a World War 3, many theorize it would be the end of all life, and no wonder, Trogdor is seriously menacing!
